I joined the OEHCSA in June of 2006 and 10 years on I am still enjoying the flexibility and diversity of the work with partners and colleagues. The Outer East is a great place to work, so good in fact that I don’t even feel the need to complain, too often, about the one hour commute from the Western suburbs each morning.
Prior to joining the OEHCSA I worked in local government as a social planner and with the Department of Human Services in disability services and service planning. My work career started off a little differently to where it has ended up, my first job was as a research assistant in a molecular biology laboratory at the Howard Florey Institute at Melbourne University. I took up this role after completing an Honours Degree in Genetics, but after 3 years in medical research I decided to swap pipettes and test tubes for counselling and I completed a Bachelor of Social Work and worked in Child Protection for 3 years before moving to England to live in a thatched cottage in the beautiful county of Dorset.
When I’m not at work I love running meditation courses with my husband.

Inspired by an overseas study tour to Cambodia, I quickly developed a deep passion for the not-for-profit sector. This stuck with me through my studies, leading me to complete my undergraduate in Psychology and Health Promotion and postgraduate in Health Promotion. These studies grew my interests in the role of language in health and effective communication with the most vulnerable in our communities.
My role at the OEHCSA has evolved over the last two years to include Health Promotion, Health Literacy, Special Projects and Communications. Currently I am responsible for continuous development and promotion of ‘The Well’, supporting our partners with organisational development to improve health literacy, and leading communications for our organisation through our website, newsletter and development of promotional resources.
In my spare time, you’ll find me doing anything food related – cooking, shopping, growing or googling!

I am just starting out in the not-for-profit sector and I have already learnt a lot here at the OEPCP. My love for the job is growing every day and it really appeals to me knowing that the objective here is purely to help others. I have a passion for spreadsheets and making everyone’s jobs easier, the ultimate goal is to have the office running like a well-oiled machine. I’m also loving the freedom I have to focus my creative flare into the website and newsletter as well as other projects that pop up.
I dream of seeing the world and have already crossed a few destinations off my list. I am also a huge fan of Corgis, owning 2 beautiful fur babies myself.

I have always felt at home in the not-for-profit environment, cutting my teeth with the sector at Australian Red Cross. After moving on to the research department of the National Heart Foundation my passion for the health work environment was cemented. More recently I’ve been on hiatus wrangling my children but I’m so excited to have joined the team at OEPCP this year and getting the chance to work on a diverse range of projects.
In my spare time I love to plan every detail of our next holiday adventure or you’ll find me in my kitchen creating novelty cakes.

I’m the newest member to join the team here at OEHCSA. Prior to this role I have worked predominately in Community Health and Local Government.
My studies in Health Promotion and Dietetics prepared me for a variety of roles within these fields such as project management and also coordinating, implementing and evaluating Integrated Health Promotion and Municipal Public Health & Wellbeing plans. Additionally, I have worked as a private, community and public health dietitian and managed a busy, multidisciplinary, allied health team.
I look forward to working with the many PCP partners within the Outer East Primary Care Partnership catchment during my time in this role.
